Dr. Karena R. Craemer was raised in the South Bay and graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCLA before earning her DDS degree with honors from UCSF, where she was the first recipient of the Dean’s “Scholarship for Promise.” She completed her specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at NYU College of Dentistry and has since provided comprehensive orthodontic care to children and adults throughout the Los Angeles area. Dr. Craemer combines advanced clinical training, research experience, and a compassionate approach to create healthy, confident smiles. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling.

Dr. Karena R. Craemer is a highly trained and accomplished Orthodontist dedicated to creating healthy, confident smiles through advanced, evidence-based orthodontic care. Raised in the South Bay, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Civilization. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry, where she achieved honors, participated in orofacial research, and was the first recipient of the prestigious four-year UCSF Dean’s “Scholarship for Promise.”

Continuing her education, Dr. Craemer earned her specialty certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from New York University College of Dentistry, where she completed rigorous advanced training in orthodontics and facial growth and development. While at NYU, she conducted research on growth predictors for successful Class II orthodontic treatment, completing and submitting a systematic review under faculty mentorship.

Dr. Craemer has a strong academic and research background. During her time at UCSF, she was selected for the Fellowship for Academic Careers in Dentistry, where she developed and taught an “Orofacial Medicine for Medical Students” course and collaborated with faculty on curriculum development. Her research efforts resulted in multiple presentations and awards, including second-place recognition at a Pediatric Dentists Symposium.

Since completing her specialty training, Dr. Craemer has practiced throughout the Los Angeles area, providing comprehensive orthodontic care to both children and adults. She has experience working in private practice and high-volume clinical settings and has completed advanced training in clear aligner therapy, including a Clear Aligner Advanced Residency Education program and an Aligner Intensive Fellowship. She is certified in Basic Life Support (CPR/AED).

Dr. Craemer is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists (PCSO), the California Dental Association (CDA), and serves as a Committee Member of the Western Los Angeles Dental Society (WLADS).

She combines precision, innovation, and compassion in her orthodontic philosophy, emphasizing individualized treatment planning and modern techniques to achieve beautiful, lasting results. Outside the office, Dr. Craemer enjoys spending time with her family, cooking new recipes, and traveling.
